Well kids...I'm here! The journey was long...took about two days and a very long layover in Bangkok where I had the luxury of sleeping in a hotel in the airport. I arrived in Kathmandu and stayed there for one night. Got to ride on the back of a motor bike and get two kurtas (shirts) so I could have something to wear. Kathmandu was amazing and very dusty.
The next day I flew to Dhangadi and have been here ever since. The first week I lived with the Finnish family and the week after I moved into the guesthouse next door. We don't live in the city or the complete countryside....it's a mixture of both. I am really liking it so far. Definitely having cold showers and making meals without a microwave but I actually enjoy that. I like learning how to do things differently and the challenge makes life more interesting. We had a big storm the second night I got here and the internet cable was damaged...so limited internet excess, thus the few updates I have given some of you. More details to come...but here are some pictures for you to see where we live!
So awesome to get to peek into your life! Know that we love the updates, and it helps us to pray for you and to remember how much we miss you.
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome! What an experience...
ReplyDeleteHow random that I picked today to look at your facebook and it appears you have arrived in Dhangadi and just posted about it..How awesome that will be!!! How long will you be there and why? Well, long lost China friend from 5 years ago, I'm kinda jealous and I hope you have an amazing time. I want to travel again! Enjoy!
